Hi all PH video camera gurus,

I don't know if our odd requirement is possible, and would welcome some advice.

We have a boat moving forklift truck (forks 18' long and the machine weighs 31 tonnes). I would like to equip it with 2 video cameras mounted on the fork carriage and interfaced with an Android tablet mounted in front of the driver. As the forks have a lift/lower range of 30' positive and 12' negative and the mast is 2 stages, I would rather not hard wire the set up. Does any one know of any cameras that could meet our needs? Cameras need to be waterproof, battery operated, and reasonably good in low light conditions. We have a good site-wide wifi system, and I would like to interface to the tablet through that.

We have done a 'proof of principle' exercise with a GoPro and an Iphone and found the resultant image good but a bit too 'laggy' to be of any use.

Any advice gratefully received.

Cheers

Graham

Instead of wifi, how about wireless CCTV cameras running in their own wireless protocol?

Cams on the forks and viwer in the cab?
