I do wonder if it's too big a step, he's not exactly destroying the Moto3 field.

Jack Miller will jump from Moto3 to MotoGP in 2015 after signing a three-year contract with Honda.
After a series of giant killing performance in Moto3 this season - which he currently leads nine points ahead of Marc Marquez's younger brother Alex - the 19-year-old Australian has been tipped as a star of the future by Honda.
Miller will be joining the Ducati-departing Cal Crutchlow at LCR Honda next season and becomes the first rider to move from the lowest grand prix class to MotoGP since Leon Haslam in 2001.
"I am very happy to make the leap up to MotoGP next year, especially because I will do so alongside HRC," said Miller.
"It's a dream come true; I think that every rider would like to race at the highest level in the world championship with Honda.
"It is certainly a big jump from Moto3 to MotoGP, but I am convinced that we are ready and that, step-by-step, learning every day, we can do a great job."
LCR team boss Lucio Cecchinello added: "Without doubt this is a very exciting project and a completely new challenge for us.
"We do believe that Jack will be a future strong performer in the premier class due to his undeniable talent, motivation and driver.
"For sure he will need time to learn how to ride a 1000cc machine but there is no rush, and next year will just be a learning season for him in the class."
Miller is expected to work with crew chief Cristian Gabbarini, who was Casey Stoner's chief engineer at Ducati and Honda between 2007 and 2012, and, like Miller, Stoner spent his first MotoGP season at LCR.
Miller was also involved in a contract row earlier this season when the Marc VDS team insisted it had a binding deal to run him in Moto2 in 2015, which he disputed.

Well, if the bloke and the team think he can go from a 50 bhp 250 to a 240 bhp thou good luck to him.
I know you're stating that it's a big step up, but surely Moto 3 bikes produce more than 50bhp?Lincsblokey said:

I know you're stating that it's a big step up, but surely Moto 3 bikes produce more than 50bhp?The more direct comparison is with Garry McCoy who went from 125GP straight into 500GP.
If I remember correctly, he wasn't exactly scared of the throttle was he?
If the KTM is such an inferior bike, why has it won the last 3 Moto-3 titles? Could it just be that Honda have now decided to take Moto 3 very seriously again?

Paddock politics, Moto3 was designed with a 'price cap' theorised, however KTM blew that out the water, Honda then said last year they would build a new bike, dubbed 'The KTM Killer', it debut' lat in testing this year and was well of the pace the first few rounds, however as Rins, Marquez & Vazquez etc have got to grips with it, its become clear HRC were not lying when they called it what they did.If I remember correctly, he wasn't exactly scared of the throttle was he?

PS, agree on your point ref McCoy, however the gap is a lot bigger between Moto3 & MotoGP than 125 to 500's
