Planning on using the tunnel next year for our trip. Would like to leave booking for a while yet as at least one member of the party is not quite ready to commit.

So when do you think is the best time to book to get the best prices, or has it already passed? Will decent time slots and rates still be available in November or December say?

We'll be travelling earlyish on the Thursday and back on Monday.

We book ours in January when we have all our clubcard vouchers to use towards it

Tesco clubcard that is... We had £120 odd last year towards it. Covered the cost of the chunnel + most of the breakdown cover smile

As far in advance as possible. It's not like plane tickets where there might suddenly be some last minute deals. Most important factor in the pricing (stupidly) is how long you're in France for, not the actual times of departure.

Eurotunnel vouchers are one of the best things to use Clubcard points towards, but if you don't have one now then it's gonna be too late to accrue enough (unless you buy a 10 year supply of Cushelle).

Fair enough - might have been possible to accrue a fair amount of points when I had the V8 as there is a Tesco petrol station near me, but now not so much.

If there isn't likely to be a dramatic increase in prices between now and January then waiting until next year will suit my party best.

Cheers

Eurotunnel bookings are not passenger dependant so you can book now if you want and your mate can just turn up on the day, unless he is taking his own car then it's another booking.

It's multiple cars so we want to end up on the same train.

I've used the tunnel a few times before but usually there is no need to wait before booking. There is this time but I don't want to leave it too late.

don't hold your breath when it comes to Channel ferry prices....this may or not happen but.....

http://www.kentonline.co.uk/kent-business/county-n...

ferries on either end of the Channel have been in turmoil for quite a while, companies going under, in trouble, boats being transferred etc.
Newhaven - Dieppe nearly went last year, French regional council which runs Dieppe and surprisingly Newhaven as well, were subsidising EACH crossing at least £10k to keep the Ports open and safeguard jobs. LD/DFDS were the only ones who wanted this route but for how much longer?

Bookings are now available for LM June 2015.
Looks like prices have increased by 20%
