Would anyone care to recommend a decent hotel for Rome for a few days in October (25th Anniversary trip). Something mid-range price wise.

Any other Rome related info also greatly appreciated.

A few years ago there was a recommendation given here which I booked, but they had a fire before we travelled and transferd or booking to the Hotel Homs, Via Della Vita, it was great, near Spanish Steps, walk to everything, Vatacin one way, Colusseum the other. Room was small, lift was cramped and breakfast was a bit mean, (bread, jam, cheese, coffee), but food quality was good, they wanted 10 Euro for meat, and I remember wifi was expensive, they obviously made their money on extras because the hotel was oustanding value.
I've learn't to check prices for extras and mini bar, so we did not add anything to the bill, we walked every where didn't use a taxi or subway. We thought it was fantastic.
