I've just bought a 2007 VW Golf GTI, picking it up on Tuesday and i'll add more pics. It has covered 68k full VW history, cambelt done etc etc, cloth interior, touch screen VW sat Nav/infotainment system (which I assume must have been retrofitted at some point).

Very nice, what are these going for have a very similar 5 door I'm looking to sell in the next few months? Been a great car but the deals on the new R were too tempting to ignore.

Looking on Autotrader, I'm very pleased with the price I paid. They range from around £6 to 9k!

What's the real world MPG on these, I have been looking at these as a daily?

I had a remapped one of these in white, always run on super unleaded and i never saw 40mpg,35mpg was a struggle. This was over 50000 miles/3yrs.Plus a small 50liter tank meant frequent trips to fuel stations.

I'll be interested to see how economical it is, although if that was my primary concern I wouldn't have bought a GTI. I'll be happy with 30mpg to a tank, and it being small (50l), means less to pay at the pump!

It was the range that pissed me off the most, around 250 miles to a tank is crap especially on a drive across Europe.

I got 48mpg once driving like a granny, 38 on a motorway run and usually get low to mid 30s day to day.

I get around 30mpg in town and can easily achieve 40mpg driving carefully on longer runs.

Great cars, seem to hold value very well. Even more so in the Edition 30's case.

nice choice OP! cracking car.

250 miles to a tank from a GTi sounds terrible and surely a bit wrong? them minimum i get from my mk5 r32 is 270miles if im stabbing the throttle all day!

You can get more than 300 miles without trying.

I get 40-42mpg on long trips, 30-38mpg around town. Pretty good for what it is I think, excellent cars all round. I'm sure you'll enjoy yours.
