My 997.1 turbo has suddenly started juddering at about 4,000+ rpm: does anyone know why it would do this? It is happening in 3rd gear and higher. The car's a 2008 manual.
I haven't used it for a few weeks, though this hasn't be an issue before.
Also, the car doesn't quite sound itself at idle and low speed - it seems a bit muted.

Thank Imi - was it a warranty fix? is it a simple fix for an opc?

Had the same fault last week (turbo rod actuator), was fixed while I waited with some grease applied. No charge, car is under warranty.

There was a 'service campaign' back in 2009 which required greasing of the actuator rods.

The high temperature grease is available from an OPC (I have some and lubricate them every 6 months or so) but it's pricey.

Part no. P999.917.778.00 circa £40 for a can.

Thanks guys - I'll give the OPC a bell tomorrow.

Is this Porsche speak for a service recall, that an OPC will do for free? Presume they keep a record so I could check if mine was done?

yes

From circa 2009, the lubrication is now part of a service.

Quick update: the problem was the turbo actuator rod. Shame it wasn't checked when it had its service 300 miles ago, but glad it seems sorted.

Thanks for the help!
