Cheap houses. Cheap insurance. No silly 50 limits. Hardly any speed cameras. What's not to like?!?! wink
Sorry to go off topic OP but yeah!

Just seen a 6 bedroomed detached house in Ingoldsby for the same rent as my tiny one bedroomed flat with no balcony in SW London. With cheap insurance as well, I could stop working biggrin

Yeah sorry to be OT.

That Stamford/Melton/Oakham/Bourne area is very nice indeed. Pretty lovely rides all around there. Nice cycling too. I'm about 20 miles further north than that.

London is about an hour from Grantham on the train if that helps biggrin

Maybe your ad is terrible?

I won't contact a buyer if any info is missing or even for trivial stuff like having pictures of half the bike.
its in the classifieds if you want to cast a (constructive) critical eye on it. blue 636 £2800, have a nosey...

Seems decent enough, although images are all taken from above on a fairly manky street.

See the last time I sold a bike on eBay. I think it helps to go to somewhere leafy and crouch down while taking pictures. Probably seems minor but could help.

have receipts, MOT certificates etc... but yeah, no stamps in the book
That is a service history in my book. I'd rather buy a bike that was serviced by the owner with a pile of receipts to back it up that a bike with just the service book. Service books are easy to fake.

No documented history and too expensive compared to its rivals, its worth £2500 as advertised, make a good track slag for someone.

I'm hoping to get a good deal on a r1 in December

Got my 600 until then, hoping to pick up something with a fair few hundred off

I assume December best time to buy?

It definitely would, though it does look very nice in that colour. Too nice for track?! At £2.5k i'd be very teased.

Good job that you could stop working too, as you wouldn't find a job round that part of the world! Unless things have changed in the past 10 years, that whole area (Peterborugh, South Lincs and Grantham area) has nothing going on unless you like working on the land. I moved away from Peterborough in 2007 due to feck all jobs, companies closing down all over the shop, and before that I spent many a year of my youth in the Spilsby area and grew up in a little village in the arse end of nowhere (Little Bytham for anyone interested) and there's even less there! Got family who still live in Bourne and it's a nice town but there's nothing there job wise. Would not choose to move there unless I needed no money at all, and even then there are much nicer places.

Oh and from the bottom of the Wolds to Peterborough it's flat as a pancake, not a hill in sight for miles around.

Anyway, back on topic!

I think it's the time of Year, most people arnt looking to buy a bike when winter is coming, and the people are will be the bargain hunters wanting to buy it for 50p and a packet of Monster Munch.

been on hol for a week so havent got round to relisting it. some fella saw it on gumtree and emailed me. seemed promising, but then started messing about needing to bring his friend who couldnt come with him until 6 days later and could i ride it to somewhere to meet them etc. when i mentioned that wasnt possible it went a bit quiet at his end... so tonight its going up for auction on ebay... along with 2 other vehicles that need shifting biggrin

I tend to flick through the Ebay 'completed listings' search results to find out what somethings worth. Much better as it actually gives you an idea of what auctions have been finishing at, what the bidding gets up to is what people are prepared to pay and can quite often be different to what asking prices on adverts are.

Perfect time of year to buy bikes, cars, and boats. Everyone goes nuts during the lead up to the summer, or when there is a bit of warmth so drive up prices (especially on ebay) considerably.

I've sold all my recent vehicles like this on eBay and it's been fine. Lots of communication, lots of pictures and providing as much information about the car/bike as possible.

Good luck - hopefully you'll get what you want for it.

Good luck with it. Added to my watch list. I will bid on it later. It would probably make a good introductory trackday bike for next spring. The 600RR i bought for that has become a bit of an obsession in cleaning and restoring back to mint!
