Hi,

Can anyone recommend a repairer of run flats in Edinburgh? I picked up a screw in the centre tread of a 19" tyre (mentioning this because one guy said his machine wouldn't do a tyre that big), and it hasn't been run below 25psi so should be repairable.

Thanks,

Alasdair

A lot places run a mile when you say run flat. Many also claim they can't be repaired, which isn't true.

Someone telling you they can't do 19" wheels is probably scared.

I can't think of anywhere off the top of my head, but a wheel refurbishment place or an alloy wheel seller usually have better fitting equipment as to not mark wheels.

They might not fix the puncture, but they'll get it on and off.

What about AF Noble & Son at Straiton? They have their own tyre depot and are used to working with 20" runflats on GT-Rs.

If you're a member (or know one), Costco should repair that for £10.

I went to a local independent in Balerno (the one that isn't Balerno Garage) who did it for £20, with the disclaimer that RFs shouldn't be repaired etc.

Happy days...
