I know this is a well trodden topic, but wondered if anyone has recently found a particularly good insurance renewal?

I am unfortunately using my car less and less as a result of the arrival of a newborn, but keen to still have the option. Last year I only did about 500 miles (max unfortunately) and wondered if anyone has come across any good insurance companies for infrequent use?

Any help/tips appreciated.

Thanks

Mark

Classic Line just blew Manning's renewal away for me.. I even went back to Mannings with the Classic Line quote so I could stay with them, but they said they simply cant compete with the discounts being offered by Classic line this year.

+1

01455 639000 to save you looking it up. The lovely Lauren will look after you. Should be around £200, depending on your asl.

They are a broker, but place their policies with main stream insurers - mine is with Equity Red Star, as is another Chim owners.

For others reading this, I have asked for and got unlimited mileage (I do 500 miles in a fortnight), all UK track days covered, and all mods noted with no extra premium. All for £460 a year on a Chim 500.

I'm finally having to get some insurance sorted so will give them a call but how does the agreed value work? I've never had this on a policy on the past is it worth it? Do you need someone to come and inspect?

The TVRCC will value it for you, and you can get it done by a dealer I believe. Ask Classicline when you get them to quote.

You should get more diving time it ha new born.

When they retire early, you grab the keys and make use of empty roads.

It's a win win situation. Don't get sucked into being there all the time, that's for wimmin wink

30 years old - classic line, under £300, 5000 miles, track days, breakdown, kept in car port , declared mods - bargain

Thanks all for your advice. Classic Line came out the cheapest at just below £200 and a fantastic service to go with it.

Cheers

Performance direct for me. They let you accrue NCD on a second classic policy (which many don't do) and my premiums on a 450 Chim with agreed value £16k has come down from £600 to this years renew of £289.

I have found RH to be very competitive.
