Just been alerted to this in another thread and thought I'd share the love.

Having not seen them in the cinema first time round, this is a definite for me, much prefer the director's cut of Aliens too.

What other films would you like to watch in the cinema that you missed first time round?

For me:

Bladerunner
Terminator

My local is showing Ghostbusters, which I'd love to see on the big screen but Alien and Aliens back to back beats it hands down!

I'd love to see "2001: A Space Odyssey" again in its original Cinerama format.

Absolutely.

Any that featured heavy use of miniatures, for me. I really cant get away with huge CG scenes, miniatures have an amount of magic that CG just cant replicate.

I saw 2001: A Space Odyssey in the 70mm remastered format at the BFI earlier this year. It was jaw dropping.

That's the next best thing to its original showing.

I saw it in 1969 in Cinerama.

I saw it again in 1979 in 70mm and it was good - but not as stunning as the Cinerama format.

Wow this has to be done.

I went to see The Thing a few years back on its original film format and the reel chewed itself up after ten minutes!

I'm tempted. However, I have seen Aliens so many times that I'm not sure I can bear to see it again. smile

I should do this.

Also on my lists - Dune (1984) and Blade Runner.

Will grab my ticket on Friday. a few mates are keen but one moaned that Vue seats make his legs go numb and he has it on DVD\Blu ray anyway....Okay we both have cineworld cards but DVD is harldy the same as the big screen, especially as we never got to see them in the cinema originally as too young.

I say we block-book the cinema from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
