I need to use 2 weeks of holiday before the end of the year. Been speaking to the OH, and decided to a bit of a driving holiday rather than going to sit on the beech. Just after some advise on locations.

We're thinking November/December time. I've got a set of winter tyres so should be fine to drive through Europe - although never had a RWD BMW before so not sure if winter tyres has the same effect on them.

Just looking for ideas on places. We usually do France/Spain/Italy in the summer, so ideally would prefer to avoid them. I was thinking either drive down to Croatia, and back up through Hungry, Slovakia, Poland, then back through Germany.

Or, head up through Belgium, Netherlands and Denmark up to Sweden & Norway.

Anyone got any ideas?

My thoughts were the same. If I were looking to take a driving holiday at that time of year, I would look for places that tend not to get snow - especially in a RWD car even with winters on it. You want a carefree and enjoyable drive, not a cautious and nervous drive as slow fall begins to get heavy and won't let up.

Lots of options for mainland Europe, and despite have been there in the in the summer, France and Spain have great roads in the northern parts of the countries and you would explore areas you have not typically seen (assuming you head to the southern coasts for the summer).
