Thanks Greg, can I get any further details of the registered keeper. I don't mind paying. And is it green?

Provide the Reg to your insurers, they can handle it from there

Report to the Police and your insurance company stating that the car ran into your Mrs's Car and failed to stop.

ive got a call in with the insurers. police told me 'let your insurers deal with it'. As they didn't witness it they won't get involved. great

Taxed, MOTd and insured.

But, again, just shove the plate at the insurer. Be prepared for evasion and lies, though. Is there much damage?

Should've told them. The wife thought he looked drunk.

I always though failing to stop at the scene of an accident was an offence so how can the police not be interested??

Exactly. It's a criminal offence, they can't choose to iggy it. Call back, tell them if they don't investigate, you'll make a formal complaint

It's a false alarm but thanks for the assistance. To be fair i can't blame her for thinking the car 'felt' like a shunt. She just picked it up 'Tiguan' from a service and there is something not right. It feels like a rear end shunt but im happy to say it wasnt a collision.

maybe the mods want to delete the reg details.

I've had it twice. Police take the view no-one is injured (seriously), insurance will deal with it. On one occasion I even had the reg.
