I'll be there with IPMS Farnborough. I went to the Airfix talk last year and it was very informative.

So Matt, any clues as to what the rumoured 24th scale kit will be?

And in other matters i'm opening the big Tiffee box in earnest in the morning.... Oh! Lordy! Lordy!

We just told the ipms bloke we were making an announcement, he added on the "1/24th" bit all by himself! We have a shortlist of several potential subjects but haven't decided yet what the next superkit will be. So I don't even know!

According to Scale Aviation Modeller Magazine (SAMI) Airfix persons were spied measuring up the Shack at Coventry a few months ago. So - you never know.

If a Shack is in the offing, make it a Mark 2 or AEW Mk2 which will mean that the old FROG Mark 3 in my stash is still worth building.

That did make me laugh smile I'd love to know who made that up.

A similar rumour started about the Valiant - and it turned out to be true. So, you never know....

That started after Trevor Snowden thought that the day after the Telford show would be a good time to go and measure the one at Cosford, which is 15 mins down the road and was full of modellers that had stayed overnight after the show!

Good call - although a mainstream and accurate 1/72 version wouldn't go amiss either.

..or leaving them inside cockpits wink

It's interesting that the Shackleton thread on Britmodeller has gone to 20+ pages. A few people want one, but I'm not sure it will be a good seller for Airfix.

personally, I'm more than happy for Airfix to not release anything new next year, as I'm behind on all their latest releases (not including the 1/48th Gnat, Swift and Do17 that are not released yet)!

Perhaps the new kit will be a 1/24th Boy scout smile

The Dornier 17Z is up next as it has just been built from a test shot in the latest edition of Airfix magazine.

If you go on Sunday you can walk around the competition hall and see which models won prizes. If you've never been before, then there is a lot to see in the main halls. If you've been before, a lot of it apart from the competition hall is exactly the same as previous years.
