Push button start

Is the standard factory start button also a stop button or is the key used to cut the engine?

Can anyone recommend a good start/stop button similar to production cars?

Check out JJC 35mm Engraved Aluminium LED starter push button on eBay.
You can also get matching switches to replace the plastic factory ones.
I have the one above but usually use the key to stop the engine as it also turns off the ignition.

I'm also fitting a starter switch. Can someone tell me which wires I steal from the key/ignition switch?

If it is just a Start button you are fitting then you will need a green or white (ignition switched live) and the White/Red which goes to the start relay.

The loom already has these wires ready to use in about the middle of the dash.

I robbed the starter solenoid feed and one of the lives off the back of the ignition key barrel & 'Hey presto'. I sourced the button from RS components years ago when I was going to install it into my Caterham.

Yes defo looks like the type if button you'd have on a Caterham dash
