Hi All,

Can anyone recommend someone to do four wheel alignment. Ideally with a Hunter or similar.

I've just used Andy Turner to do my 4 wheel alignment in Kirkstall. Really nice chap, came well recommended on here and has years of experience:

Won't use anywhere else but Station Garage.

Not impressed with track torque; it's still pulling to the left, oh let's take some air out of the right front. Hmmm

Never had an issue with Andy myself. He's worked on a few of my cars now along with other cars in the family and for a few mates too. Top bloke who knows his onions.

Perhaps not so hasty. Despite the cult like following that Turner seems to have on this forum, my own personal experiences of using him to do the tracking on my car were pretty shoddy. He left me with an off centre steering wheel which he refused to fix, claiming that it was in fact straight and didn't even have any kind of wheel alignment equipment, stating that because he's worked in motor racing he is able to set up wheel alignment and tracking purely by eye and feel. Yes, really. Nice enough to bloke to chat to, but when I'm paying someone to do a job properly for me, that's what I expect to get, not a bodge. YMMV but it's not an experience I wish to repeat. 2p fwiw.

I wouldn't describe it as a cult like following myself. He's done the alignment on a few cars for me now and has used proper equipment to do so. A printout of the before and after readings was provided on each time. I've used him for mechanic work, welding and undersealing too amongst other stuff over the past few years and he's always been spot on with me. Obviously that wasn't the case for you but I've never had an issue.

Re Andy Turner he now has full modern alignment kit and has had for last couple of years I think..He recently set up my Mrs car and seemed bang on, ( he did previously set up without ). He also converted/fitted my race car motor inc manufacturing mounts, chopping chassis, moving the diff etc etc and has all been great. There are perhaps other jobs I'd go else where for if I thought somebody could do a better job or had specialisms I really needed etc but for alignment and now he has all the kit I don't think you can go far wrong. Nice bloke too....

I've used Andy Turner to do the wheel alignment on a year old 1 Series following a collision with a curb. As mentioned by some others, he uses 4 wheel laser alignment equipment and was able to return the car to factory settings including the steering wheel alignment.
