Hello

I'd like some advice/comments regarding a AUC warranty. I bought an E46 M3 convertible from a dealer last November so it had the AUC warranty. Over the past year the car has had work done to the engine (rocker arms, camshaft). Recently I called BMW regarding a renewal quote. The lady told me £2066 with £100 excess per claim! Surely this can't be right? I'd appreciate any feedback and suggestions since I feel that they must be trying to punish me for the work but that is the point of having a warranty. Surely there must be a set formula for working out prices based on milage and age. My car is an 04 with average milage (89k).

Thanks in advance.

The price shoots up after 60K miles.

This is one big reason why many haggle for a second year AUC warranty.

You'd be nuts to buy a warranty at that price.

Independent warranties can be a cost-effective alternative, albeit not so comprehensive.

I'd put a few quid into a service fund each month to cover anything that arises....and get work done by a good independent....way better than BMW service!

Thanks. So that is the ball park figure, bloody hell! The thing that worries me about 3rd party warranties is whether they will pay up. I've heard that Warranty Direct is quite good.
