Following on from this thread: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I am now happy to say I've joined the club:

Current mods are:

Bilstein suspension
Milltek exhaust
Long tube headers
Remap
AP brakes all round

Next plans:

Diff rebuild with 3.9 gear, Quaife LSD & G-force half shafts and uprated hubs (and considering solid prop - however keep reading mixed reviews!)

Any advice and commets welcome biggrin

Looks well-loved. At least swap in a short VXR stick (or even a full shifter), the long stick stands out like a sore thumb! wink

Almost forgot - it's also fitted with Ripshifter... Not exactly sure which bits that swaps out - would I still benefit from a shorter (VXR?) stick?

I've got a long list of personal plates that were on it over the years - pm if you want me to check if yours is on there!

Did you have it serviced at MF? I have a few bits of paperwork from there... Would be great to hear more if you know anything more about the history smile

it would have had w3nkr on it at some point in its life, the more I look at the reg the more it is familiar - if it is my old one, you have one of the best tunes on it (unless its been overwritten!)

Yes. Forget the G-Force shafts. Have a look at the Drive Shaft Shop. They do a great anti hop kit.

I've had a read of the mixed reviews of the G-Force half shafts - the "problem" is that I already have (were included in the sale) all the parts that I've listed...

The car has a clunky diff, so the previous owners bought all the new parts but then decided to move onto another project.

All I'm left with is the cost of installtion, so don't want to spend a fortune on more new bits as well..!

As it is, I'm considering not fitting the PST solid alloy prop due to bad feedback, although if the only drawback is that I'm going to suffer from vibrations at 150+mph, I'm not sure how much of a problem this is likely to be...!

Might get close to that on the back straight at somewhere like Donnington?

Personally, for how easy it is, I would try that prop. Its not often you are going to be doing 150.

Just checked the HPI report - it's definitely your old car... I hope that's a good thing!

Nice one, its been bugging me all day. Not keen on the spoiler but wink It also had a single exit tips on when I had it and the long tubes shouldn't rub we spent ages getting the clearance sorted after bodgit and scarper fitted them - I did the tune, its a cracking tune so long as no numpty has overwritten it. Now we've confirmed it I guarantee a certain gareth will be in touch to see if he can have a read of it wink

Its a good thing, in my time I looked after that car like a baby. Hoping the tune's been left in tact as that was probably 2 years of fine fettling to get it with the most accurate ve table and by that I mean you could change other settings very accurately as a result. Had a great spark map too and never pulled timing. Most accurate commanded afr across the entire range.
