Just seen the pilot of 6 episodes so far

An eccentric genius forms an international network of super-geniuses to act as the last line of defense against the complicated threats of the modern world.

It's being slated, but I thought it an amusing 40 minutes

watched the first episode, was rather cheesy and silly but that's not a bad thing considering the utter tripe on TV usually biggrin

Could have potential

Found it hard to watch since I work in IT and the whole thing was sooo far fetched/unrealistic it was stupid. I'll give it another try though....

I've tried watching the first two episodes.

The first was impossibly bad. The second episode is no better. I had low hopes for this show, and it didn't meet them.

I gave up after that ridiculous scene with the world's only manual-shift Ferrari 458 in the first episode.

It's awful... but addictive to watch! It's from the same director from Fast and Furious - hence the cheese biggrin

I've set it to record on ITV2 tonight. Having read above I will be looking out for the howlers - pity if it's true, the trailer looked quite good.

Dear All,

watched this. Preposterous but charming. Only the finale with passenger jet letting down a cable to a car driving underneath suspended my disbelief suspension.

It also got the fluid baddie out of Terminator 2, cool.
The waitress is rather hot too smile

regards,
Jet

I'm usually happy to let things go for the sake of a good story but this was pushing the limits !

- New load of Air traffic control SW corrupts.
- Oh no ! Disaster, people are going to die
- Let's find some bloke who has an IQ of 197 to sort this out
- Right -found him. What do you suggest ?
- Mmmm , let me think. I know ! Get the backup disk out and go back to previous version of software
- Genius !!!
- Stuff with aeroplanes, wireless connections in cafes, Ferraris etc.
- Phew, sorted.
- Geek gets bird

Is this what goes through an IT guy's imagination when the latest Windows SW update doesn't load properly on someone's PC ?

I'll be watching next week hehe

I just watched it, generally entertaining as long as you can filter out the utter rubbish bits, I'll probably watch the rest of the series. I guess if they make a lot of the geeky stuff so obviously over-the-top and preposterous, it will stop people nit-picking on individual bits.

After the second episode, the thing annoying me the most is how the genius was apparently from Eire according to the flashback sequences, but even back then he seemed to have an American accent. I can get why he might have developed one after living there for a while, but not why he already had one. Perhaps that's a running 'secret' that will get revealed in the last episode. Or casting someone who can't do an Irish accent.

Watched part 2, too.

It seems they blew the CGI budget on part 1. And the writing time.
A little formulaic but still watchable,

Jet

Based on a real person apparently Walter O'Brien, who did grow up in Ireland, though I doubt the storylines are!

Yes, though last weeks episode did seem to be basically dramatising loading a software update.

Lots to dislike about this (acting, scripts, characters from central casting, cheesiness, moral messages, usual techy rubbish) but I still find myself having to watch it. A bit like a more modern version of 'Bugs'.
