I don't wish to insult you, but suggest you might want to re-think the wording of your post above containing the following statements:
glad it wasn't just me who was struck by the irony!rubystone said:
My old logins don't work, I still pay my membership fee though...

Eric, have you tried emailing the help address at the bottom of the thread here ?

I've just been blocked from entering the forum now - even though I was able to access it up until a week or so ago.
It does seem to be a bit of a mess.
It may be a case of RTFM its probably not the password but the PIN number if you haven't entered the PIN no amount of passwords will let you post It does seem to be a bit of a mess.

Yes - been given a temporary password. It still won't let me in.I'm, on the verge of giving up.

That's a shame, for the sake a few emails to the help address I've now been told by the site maintenance team that if you make more than 5 failed attempts to log in - you will be blocked PERMANENTLY.
It's a bug (surprise, surprise) that they weren't aware of until now - so they tell me.
No need for rolling eyes, thank you very much. At least they weren't being rude.
Apologies for the Eric, but from your post of 11.25am "I've just been blocked from entering the forum now - even though I was able to access it up until a week or so ago. It does seem to be a bit of a mess." it sounded like you'd posted on here rather than contact the site support, and then decided that it wasn't worth the effort.
If they're aware of your issues I'm sure they'll do their best to sort it out; and do let us know what the issue was?

I had already e-mailed them (four times), phoned them (which they couldn't help me on) and then had a very nice phone call from the membership secretary.
I did not come onto PH as a "first resort" and you were wrong to jump to that conclusion.
I am now waiting for them to get back to me to let me know if they have the "five strikes and you are out" issue sorted.
They openly admitted to me that the migration has been almost a disaster for the club and they are desperately trying to sort out the myriad issues that have arisen.

So the problem was you'd been viewing the site ok, but then tried to log in using your password from the old site, and hadn't registered it, or set up a new one, on the new site?
The new site then blocked your IP address after 50 (not 5) failed login attempts using the wrong password.
The only "bug" was that the site admin weren't able to easily unblock your IP address after 50 failed attempts.
So you haven't read and followed the registration email sent to all members; repeatedly tried to use a password for an old site; and then come on here blaming the new site.
However, at least you've admitted it was your fault and apologised - oh, hang on (I think the rolling eyes are justified now?).

Because I was allowed to use the new site without having to change any passwords, I assumed that I didn't have to make any changes later.
To be honest, all this registration stuff I find tedious and rather boring and will do it if and when I have to. It seems yesterday I had to do it - so I did it. It just took me a bit by surprise.
Notice that I didn't rant and rave against them and that I spoke to them directly and they helped me out - so kudos to them.
And it does seem that I brought something to their attention that they weren't aware of - so some good has come out of the episode.
And nobody on the site has tried to be a smart ass about it either.

I think that this thread has now run it's course. Blat Chat is now as busy as ever, most of the teething problems that were very obvious initially seem to have been addressed or are in the process of being sorted.
I have not seen a major increase of traffic here, or on the DNA site, so it would appear that most souls have bitten the bullet and are still grateful for the L7C and BC for their needs.
Life isn't perfect, your car isn't perfect, BC isn't perfect and never will be. There's always room for improvement - even if it's under the umbrella of 'change'.
Still lots of good advice being profferred here and also on BC. Long may both continue.

I certainly don't visit the site anywhere near as much as I used. On the old site you could reply to another post with that post in you response but now it seems only the post number appears instead. It's a bit like a glorified Twitter and that I think is not a good way to go. For the first time I'm wondering if I'll renew my subs.
