Sorry for being a right old moaner, but as this happened yet again (as on so many other occasions) at the AMOC Meeting @ Snett this Saturday just gone, not going to let it pass without comment this time!

The spectator stands at Coram and Brundle/Nelson/Bomb Hole were both locked shut, so they were totally non-accessible to paying Customers.

As a regular spectator particularly at Snett, I tend to regard this as something of a two fingered thank you from the Circuit/MSV/Mr Palmer.

Incidentally, notwithstanding the above, it was a most enjoyable day's racing; weather and the racing itself; many thanks to AMOC and all the competitors and marshals.

How ridiculous that we've waited years for new grand stands at snett and they keep them shut.

It was a great weekend though, I was racing in the Intermarque race, I was very surprised how packed the spectator banks were when we came through behind the restaurant on the green flag lap.

Don't they usually make you pay more to sit in them though?

No (and please don't go giving Mr P any more daft revenue raising ideas especially as we've waited donkey years for these tiddly little basic things!), not that that makes any difference to the point I'm making; not unlocked for use means not unlocked for use.

PS The intermarque race was really entertaining .................. thanks!

If people didn't leave litter everywhere they go, I bet these things would be left open more often.

I always assumed it was a health and safety thing? That they had to put an attendant wherever there was an open grandstand in case anyone fell over etc? having said that, i have been to club meetings at various tracks and found open grandstands with no one in.

You might be right about the H&S thing. So said, there were plenty watching and I'm in no doubt that several like me would have have sat in those two stands if they could have done; one can see much more on an essentially flat track like Snett by being able to sit a few feet up in the air.

A couple more staff to look after their paying Customers isn't going to make MSV go bust, but doubtless they'll be happy to continue delivering below-par Customer Service for just as long as we are prepared to tolerate it.

That is quite interesting, I went on sunday, the grandstands were open, not many people in them, althought the crowd was way more than the usual 400/500, apart from the first race grids were poor. I don't spectate often because we race in a more modern championship, admission was £3 more than normal and no discount for concessions.I would not go again, on this basis Vscc can not provide enough entries for a viable one day meeting and good racing.

I went on Sunday. Got in for free, was directed to where I was mean't to park by 'Captain Mainwaring' who was great fun and had time to chat to everyone despite being quite busy. We enjoyed a good days racing. The only disappointment was that the burger van was shut. However I got a fantastic breakfast hap from Tyrells resturant.

The views from the grandstands aren't great either.
