See how many we can get on here to mark this change to our windscreens.

I'll post mine when I get to work and it's light.

My PH tax disc holder will be consigned to the history books tomorrow. How else will people inside the car know I'm a PH'er? I'll just have to tell them and bore them to death.

Damn. I still have a few years of tamper proof disc holders paid for (they are destroyed if removed). Being a tight git I still want to use them so I will draw my own tax disc and stick it in every year.

Wonder how many tax disc holders are still on sale.....

I'll be leaving mine in and adding my own reminder each year. Might use neon yellow for added impact.

You do realise there's no points for failing to display a tax disc? And even in the incredibly unlikely chance that he does get pulled up for it, I think you'd be extremely unlucky if you got more than a stern talking to.

No I didn't - but agreed exceptionally unlikely especially given the change tomorrow

Was wondering round inside a halfords store on sunday. They still had the isle signage for tax disc holders, however they had none for sale.

I did not know about this until a few months ago, seeing as it has been well publicised.

This pleases me greatly. There anti-symmetry caused by the tax disc always bugged me as a kid. I'll be out there tonight with the glass cleaner.

I'll be leaving mine in for old times sake.

N.B only vehicles taxed from 1/10/14 do not need to display a tax disc. If you have a valid tax disc up to 30/09/15 you still need to display it.

Well that's how I read it.

That's the problem with this whole bloody thing - it's been done so badly that everything appears to be open to interpretation...

Seems quite clear to me:

"From 1 October 2014, the paper tax disc will no longer need to be displayed on a vehicle. If you have a tax disc with any months left to run after this date, then it can be removed from the vehicle and destroyed"

From the DVLA website

From 1 October 2014, the paper tax disc will no longer need to be displayed on a vehicle. If you have a tax disc with any months left to run after this date, then it can be removed from the vehicle and destroyed.

This is not the case, all tax discs can be removed from tomorrow.

The wording can be a bit confusing.

There are now 11,000 less people advertising tax disc holders for sale on Ebay this morning compared to yesterday. We are down to 33,298 as I write. Now no need to bring this one up to date:-
