Can anyone confirm the definitive Brake Servo as used on late 350i or an effective alternative as I would like to change mine - I think the underside has began to corrode to the point of needing a replacement...

1.6 Cortina (Mk3/4/5)/Capri is the basis although TVR adapted the rod that connects to the brake pedal to make the length adjustable. Cortina/Capri will still work fine though.

You can tell whether it's a 1.6 unit as the vacuum pipe take off is at 12 'o' clock on the body of the servo. The 2.0 unit has the pipe at between 2 and 3 'o' clock. The 2.0 unit (or 2.8/3.0) will not fit as they are bigger overall and foul on the engine bay.

Sounds about right...We did have to modify the connecting rod..And your right about the 2.8 type...I guess the difficult part would be finding one in good condition...Don't anyone refurb these anymore?....
