I did search and saw some info but it was scattered around numerous threads.

I have good credit history and good credit score, i have been self employed for almost 2 and a half years and am looking for a personal (not business related) loan to buy my wife a car.

Does anyone know of a company i can use who won’t stock me on a high rate. We rent so home owner options are out of the question.

Thanks.

That will be my first port of call and need an appointment as they cant quote online for self employed people.

Just wondered if people have experience with other favourable institutions.

I think as long as you have proof of earnings - tax returns etc you should be OK

yes ... I'm pretty sure it was at 11% i did get one 4 years ago on 3.9% but things have changed apparantly.

The weird thing is barclays wanted 16% over the phone which I declined, then I saw the pre-approved loan add on the app and it came through at 11%

check out peer to peer lending, i applied the other week, the only reason they turned me down was my business was less than 2 years old.

just waiting till after xmas now smile

this was before the whole default notice issue, which should be resolved in the next fortnight or so.

I have been with Lloyds for 25yrs, 17 of those being self-employed. When I've needed a couple of car loans they've done it at standard APR, based on good history with them. Needed a sit down and chat with someone there, but I prefer it that way anyway.

Cheers. Contacted them about applications for self employed people.
