After my successful last post when I got the right contact for some works to get a car going wondered where the best place would be to take a car to have its engine/bay detailed?

Thanks in advance

Would that be for the Aston? Be careful! I've recently cleared 70 faults from a DBS that had its engine bay 'detailed', amongst other things....

Either Glyn Odonnell - www.elitedetailer.co.uk or search for him on Facebook. He is based around York but travels and is genuinely one of the best of the best.

More local to Harrogate is Tom Blackmore - www.divine-automotive.co.uk . He is based in Knaresborough.

Both are used by quite a few PHers.

I've used Tom and have been very happy with his detailing work. Highly recommended.

However, I'd never, ever have one of my old cars engines steam/pressure cleaned. I know it's possible to do but I'd just worry. A good clean with detergents and brushes etc seems fine, it's just high pressure water that scares me!

Thanks Ben smile

Yes pressure washers and engines don't mix - Modern stuff with huge plastic engine covers are fine, the older stuff not so much as everything is far more exposed. Lots of brushes and chemicals are about as much as can be done in my view.

That was my plan. The car is old with a nice patina just needs a very detailed engine clean. Will contact Tom in Knaresborough as that's 5 mins away.
Thanks!

Do you know if Tom is still in business or packed up shop? He is not responding to emails anymore and can't seem to get hold of him. confused
