I've noticed that reverse gear has been getting more and more difficult - the lever runs out of travel and hits the edge of the hole in in the console JUST as reverse goes in - or it did, now it's getting more hit and miss. Gear selection just seems a bit vague overall.

I've checked that the clutch is getting full travel (not punching through the release arm) and I'm pretty sure that it's the selector itself.

I've ordered a new saddle (the bit on the selector rods that the lever goes into) as those can wear. What I can't find, is the nylon bush / pivot ball joint that goes on the end of the lever itself - I remember seeing on here that somebody had replaced theirs, but I can't find the relevant posts.

Any guidance guys?

This bit?

Doesn't look like it will come off over the "fork" but can't go the other way because TVR have welded the gearstick, but even on the straight, original Ford stick the vibration damper seems to be in the way?????

Think I'd try just the saddle first and se how it goes smile

Thanks Mike, that's the bit I meant - I had a picture of it in my head but I see now what you mean - that's going to be a nightmare if it needs fixed! Probably easier to shorten my arm and put a standard gear lever in, further back!

We'll see how the new saddle goes, eh?
