Hi All;

I guess this is purely down to pocket and personal preference but
what are the 'must' have options on the new RS4. I am in the 2nd
hand market so 'options' is a matter of compromise.

TIA,

Gary.

I would deffo be buying one with the B&O stereo. Even if you do not listen to music much it may make it much harder to sell on without it(unless you keep it for a long time where condition takes over from options in that age range). End of the day people will expect it as its available as standard on alot of the lower and slower models

Sports pack is the one must have. Everything else is gravy.

I like the aluminium package I have on mine because the front lip spoiler is usually one of the first parts of a car to show marks from stones, particularly on a dark colour and I think the aluminium will fair batter.

Absolutely loving mine at the moment. I don't think I'll ever tire of the throttle blips on the downshift.

Sports pack and B&O as mentioned.

A lot of people rave about bucket seats, I don't like them personally, so I'd say test drive one of each where possible.

I'm a big advanced key fan and love the reversing camera

I specced:

Sepang blue
B&O
Sports
20" v spokes titanium effect
Audi connect high
Privacy glass *ducks*
Hill hold
Driver assistance package (adaptive cc, rear camera)
Comfort pack (elec seats, mirrors etc)
Advanced key
Black styling
Heated seats front and rear
Full leather

I could make do without connect and heated rear seats if I needed to, the rest I wouldn't be without.

Sports pack's going to be pretty 'in demand' come resale time, but the car rides better on the standard 19's
As above, B&O is well worth the extra few quid as it's leaps and bounds better than the rather tinny standard speakers
Personally, I think the black pack works better for the looks, but some like silver styling, so each to their own on that
I had buckets on my first two RS4's (one B7 and my first B8) and they're really very nice and fitted me nicely, but it's worth considering that they do rob quite a bit of space from an already tight rear cabin and they're not the easiest to get in and out of if you have elderly passengers, and you'll struggle to get a booster seat to fit in them with kids.

Mine has ;
Misano Red
Sports Pack with Vspokes
Ceramic Brakes
Front heated seats
Black leather with grey piping and black headlining
Stainless steel mesh interior trim
Privacy glass
adaptive cruise
Lane Keep assist
Brake Guard
B&O sounds system
Reversing camera
Panoramic Roof
Hill Hold Assist

I've switched my bloody brake guard off. Twice it's anchored the car in appropriately, luckily no one was behind me on either occasion.

My RS5 had 19's and I can feel the difference but the 19's that Audi offer don't look great. If they did 19" v spokes on the RS4 I probably would have specced them

thanks for the info. I've gone for a panther black with rotors and:

- sport pack
- tech pack advanced
- carbon design pack
- matt alu. pack
- keyless
- homelink
- speed limiter removed
- B+O sound pack
- interior light pack
- pan roof

So a nice range of goodies...

Both specs look good to me!

I didn't spec speed delimiter because my RS5 most definitely didn't have the option box ticked but I had it up to 165 and it was still pulling. I've not been over to the continent or on a track in my 4 yet so not been able to see whether it stops at 155.

Fwiw, in my first b8 RS4, I did a vmax day at bruntingthorpe
Max on the day was an indicated 170 with a GPS speed of 163. There wasn't much left after that, so 174 delimiter is a waste of cash in my opinion

Arches are RS4-specific and from 2012 when RS4 was launched.
