I've never had any of the issues others have had,re the usb port, the screen etc and I bought one of the very first Hudls.I thought it was well made.

The cameras were totally useless in my opinion but then again I use my phone for taking photos like most people.
I did find the Hudl pretty lethargic in general use so may be tempted by the new one after I've demo'd it and read some reviews
I use a camera for taking photos...biggrinbiggrin

Seriously, if I need to take decent photos I'll use a camera, but the camera on a phone can be useful at times!

The Mrs picked one of these up last night for home use and to take t, 1st impressions are very good. Looks lovely in slate black although the back is a fingerprint magnet. Put Nova Launcher on staright away to get rid of the Tesco gubbins that apparently slows it down a bit. Feels a lot more premium than the price, the speakers with surround sound are a nice touch and the screen is lovely. A steal at £129 I think

Picking one of these up tomorrow. Managed to get a case for a tenner too on their current deal.

I only want it for surfing, watching video and using it to run my Sonos system, so I didnt need an all singing/dancing one. At this price its rude not to and I actually prefer the aspect ratio on these to the iPad.

Do you happen to know whether you can use a normal memory stick with these, or are you limited to the microSD card only? Thanks.

Well after sitting around for an hour or so setting it up and getting all of my apps on there, I'm now writing this with it. Not as quick as a physical keyboard but much easier than using my phone. Screen makes the s3 look poor in comparison which can only be a good sign.

Battery will be the interesting factor. After some heavy downloading, watching about 15mins of video, playing a game and some general surfing, at 1hr45mins I'm down to 70%. Hoping it might get a bit better as it gets a few more charges. Not that I'll be far from a socket though.

Love the size of it, perfect for holding upright to type with two hands, perfect to watch a film.

For £129 I don't think I could have asked for more. The Tesco stuff is all confined to the far left screen so isn't in the way or intrusive.

Got one for my mum :-P and they seem a great buy - everyone should have one! (once they have food/water/shelter/personal safety etc)

I didn't buy one in the end but I did recommend it to my dad who rang me whilst standing in Tesco's, complaining about the crappy tablet he had already bought. I've not heard back from him so not sure if he bought one.

Although twice the price I'm glad I went with the Dell Chromebook, fast enough and once you get your head around how it works its actually pretty good. I like typing on a physical keyboard and using a track pad.
We bought a Epson e-printer at the weekend and it took all of 5 minutes to set up and time wise was faster to print out a page from being sent via Google cloud than either of our hard wired Mac's!

Just bought one for my daughter for Christmas, great value for money if you take the boost vouchers into account.

I *think* you might be able to get a usb adaptor that lets you plug in a usb drive but i'm not 100% on that. A 32GB Micro SD card is a tenner though

It has a micro usb port so I guess using one of these would do it

The feature you describe is called USB OTG - not all chipsets support it. But just use an SD card , far easier and less likely to get broken in use.

Thanks for you help, SD sounds like the answer. It's mainly to be for storing technical text books including complex diagrams.

Yup still happy with mine 4 days in. Battery for some odd reason never goes beyond 98% so don't know why that is but it seems I'm not the only one with that problem. I think battery life will be this tablets main negative. But having used it for several hours and having many hours with other android and iPad tablets I really can't see a great discernible difference with what I use a tablet for. Those same uses probably cover 90% of those using tablets too. One thing I do like about this is the mini HDMI socket. Great for connecting direct to a TV

Bought one last weekend.

I already have a Nexus 7 first gen (which I'll be selling), however this only felt slightly larger than my Nexus 4 but with half the performance despite trying all sorts of ROMs and overclocking.

Pleased with it, decent size (but not too huge) and faultless performance so far.

Just waiting for a really cheap case/cover to appear on fleabay

Just picked one of these up as a browser & general cheapy plaything.
If you can live with the slightly off battery life, where it comes from, the installed crap, that can be hidden if necessary, and the storage (none of which appear to be killers IMHO), it is rather good value.
With appropriate vouchers, is something of a steal at @ £70 or so.
