Long story shirt, i work away a lot on night shifts (usually no more than 5 in a row) and quite frankly fed up with hotel costs. On longer contracts i look for a house share but even that can be a PITA. I considered a motor home but all seemed too expensive. I also considered buying a van and converting myself but ideally need something now rather than later.

This then brings me onto the Galaxy. I hadnt really considered a larger MPV up until last week when i pulled up next to one at some lights and it looked bloody massive!

My needs are very simplistic, all i need is literally somewhere to sleep.

I tested out how practical a Galaxy would be by spending the last week living in my Z4 (yes you read that right, a Z4!) It turns out it wasnt actually that bad! All my washing etc is done on site or at a nearby leisure centre (location depending) and as i work nights sub zero temperatures arent an issue.

So back onto the Galaxy, my budget is £5k-£6k and ideally one of the diesel models.

What can i expect from the Galaxy? What are they like to live with? Has anybody actually slept in one?!

I bought a V6 and it was a great car until the auto box went, twice, fuel consumption was pathetic
I've driven a desiel for work and it's a good compramise
Galaxy drives like a car and seats can be removed (or fold flat) so you can get a 2.4m sheet of plasterboard in it
Plenty of space to doss down
Cold at night though
