Can anyone advise if with elec hook up the leisure battery should be charged at the same time. My autotrail Mohawk only charges it from the engine and I'm not sure op if that is right or not. It's been hooked up for 2 days and not gainec any charge but a 30 min drive put 30% in it

Yes, you should be charging the liesure battery on hook up.
Autotrails usually have Sargent smart psu's maybe a fuse has blown on the charging unit.

You can email Sargent directly and they do reply.

I recently experienced charging issues with my newly acquired Autotrail Dakota. I've got the Sargant charging system that doesn't seem to do much to the batteries when on EHU. Fuses are fine, charger is switched on but no heat nor can I hear the cooling fan working when the batteries are definitely in need of charge.

Sargant offer a repair/recon service for a not too unreasonable cost, but I don't think the chargers are very sophisticated - certainly not in the same league as the current crop of Smart chargers.

Instead of relying on the built in charger, I've added two 240v sockets and connected a CTEK MX5 charger to the vehicle battery and a CTEK MXS 10 charger to the two leisure batteries...get to a site, switch them on and I get reliable charging, when leaving switch them off. Works for me.

Good idea, however I bought this from a dealer with a warranty only a few weeks ago so I'm going to get them to look at it first, thanks

Dealer should sort it, it should charge your liesure batteries up then go on trickle charge automatically.
Just one thing, on your control panel , there is usually a button with a picture of a battery.
If this button is selected, and it is lit up, the charge will go to the vehicle battery not the liesure battery.
Also there is a temperature probe in the battery compartment which will switch off the charger if it detects overheat or is faulty.

Bottom line is it should work adequately.

Have you got a switch on your control panel to change from cab to hab battery?
