Yup, I speed everywhere. Happy?
Doesn't bother me, but you knew the limit, you chose to carry on and now you're trying to justify it by saying others were doing it and you don't normally speed.

Not at all. I knew the limit, I thought I could get away with it and I have no one else to blame.

The OP didn't ask us to comment on whether he has driven 'unwisely' or is a stupid person. He asked if he was 'screwed', meaning, one might suppose, whether he would get 6 points during the initial probationary period and thus be reverted to a 'learner' status again.
The answer is no, you won't get 6 points. If you get anything you'll get 3 points plus a £100 fine and, yes, your insurance premium will go up.
I hope it works out OK for you as we were all young/new drivers once and it's all a learning curve.

That was the case for several years, but changed about 2 years ago
Inneresting. This FOI makes it sound like cameras on most of the M25 are indeed working.

As does this AutoExpress piece

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/car-news/consumer-new...

Still - does anyone actually know (first person, not "my mate's brother's mum's friend") anyone who's been ticketed off the M25 by a camera?

Believe it or not, but I rarely speed. This is just the one occasion that I did and I've now got to pay for it.
Ian Huntley's defense team missed a trick when they failed to use that one. Since as far as I know, he'd never killed 2 kids before. Never ever.

I've never seen streams of cars flashed like that. Why was everyone doing 70 if the signs indicated 50?

Indeed. Surely after the first 3/4 cars being flashed, the rest of you should have taken the hint?

No idea, but the flow of traffic was definitely above 50 at the time.

I have, just recently on the M25 near Heathrow.

I was driving clockwise and on the opposite carriageway, the overhead camera in Lane 3 was flashing almost every car that passed under it. I'm assuming it was a fault of some kind though.

What a charming fellow you are. I bet you're the like and soul of the party, with your witty observations.

Not in my first two years. I pretty much forgot what an accelerator was during that time.

OP - you'll get 3 points I imagine however, without wanting to get preachy, that's a silly 3 points to get. Where you know the limit and where you know there are cameras, just slow down.
Is there a smiley missing here?

2 years of such restraint? were you too busy revising for exams and doing voluntary work? PistonHeads were holier than thou matters, and they will preach at you. (even when they don't want to - but its their morale duty)

I got a ticket for doing 30 in a 20, asked for a speed awareness course and they said no as I had broken the speed limit "by 50%", took the 3 points. Wish I'd seen this chart at the time.

Its like a disco along the jct 6 stretch. Have seen one set of cameras flash 11 times

I was flashed back in April / May doing 70 in a 40. Was returning back from the Nurburgring as was unaware these cameras has been put up. Failed to notice the 40 sign and was flash along with a whole bunch of other cars.

I've never heard anything

More than likely. Is the V5 in your name and up-to-date?

And you can also rest safely in the knowledge that it'll never happen again because you never speed.

No wonder some of you folk have obscene post counts.

OP, not quite sure how these cameras work but on my way down to Portsmouth recently, I was perplexed at the speed of the cars passing me by under the 50 gantry signs and over the camera markings...they must know something I don't.
