When I started driving 32 or so years ago it was a lot more relaxed with regards to speed.
No static cameras. You drive like a c**t and the old bill would have you.
Drive sensibly and you would generally not have problems.
Then again cars of them days were a lot slower than they are now.

It seems now the whole thing is geared towards raising revenue.
Cameras everywhere. A lapse of concentration and you will be 100 quid and 3 points the worse for it.
At least years ago you had the chance to liaise with the copper before you got nicked, now it's a letter through the post.

Christ almighty the pompous self righteous indignation that someone is speeding and the sense of smugness from the holier than thou mob in this thread is overpowering.. The kid asked if he's screwed not a lecture on how naughty he is and how all the real adults are good little bears that always do as they are told..

"Never", "rarely" and "one occasion" all used to describe the frequency with which you speed. All have different meanings. Just admit you speed and get over it instead of bleating about it.
Yup, I speed everywhere. Happy?
Liar, but thanks for telling me to come & find this thread! biggrin

May I STRONGLY suggest you do NOT buy a faster car!

Just been pulled over for doing 90 MPH in a 40 MPH. Luckily he didn't clock me, but knew I was doing silly speeds. My arse has completely fallen out. So, so, so lucky not to lose my licence.
The fact that you went back through another thread, quoted me, copied it, then tried to find this thread to post it is hilariously sad. Once again I forgot this is PH where nobody breaks any laws etc etc.

*awaits you to find the other thread where I asked help when I was flashed for doing 70 in a 50 on the M25*

No sweetie, sad is feeling the need to brag about doing over twice the speed limit

And then admitting you regularly break the law with excess speeding!

Grow the fk up you silly, little child rolleyes

Given that 6 points in the first 2 years sends you back to a provisional licence, why are you speeding at all?
Fairly sure we've all been there
Nope, I'm fairly sure many people haven't.
I'm fairly sure most people have, it's just that scameras weren't invented.

I wish we could turn the clock back !

It's embarrassing. It's the reason people roll their eyes when you mention Pistonheads.

Always the same offenders too.

I pay that per year to insure a BMW 3 Series. That said, I can't be smug as I'd sooner have the last 50% of my life back than cheap car insurance!

These are eye-watering amounts and yes, your monthly payment is considerably more than I pay for annually on a V8! I am an old fart tho', but wow, just wow.
