Does anybody know how to uprate a 300C SRT8. I don't want to spend a fortune but I need to get a full service and would like to install a superchip or whatever. Does anybody know how to do it and is it worth the effort or cost??

Would be glad of some help as I have searched around and had people tell me it both can and can't be done!!

Better still, if you know who will do it, I look forward to hearing from you.

Better brakes, if the contemporary reviews were anything to go by!

When you say super chip, it sets off alarm bells. Please, for the love of all that is holy, don't buy some piece of crap eBay 'chip' for £50. At least take it to get professionally remapped if that's the route you decide to go down!

Supercharge or cam or both - neither will be cheap. Possibly improve air flow - exhaust/headers/intake/filters would be cheaper.

Don't think superchips or equivalent will be any use, unless an owner knows any different...

N/A tuning isn't cheap. A remap will help iron out flat spots and give better throttle response, but you wont get any massive gains. A cam will also help as stated.

Forced Induction is the way to go, but that's not cheap.

If it's anything like an LS2 from the same era, try cam, intake and exhaust plus a remap. Alternatively, get a supercharger. Remap alone is a waste of money on an NA car.

Thanks everyone but I am no mechanic I'm afraid. Any idea where I can get a supercharger and cam fitted??

AMG merc?

300C has more power than it can handle already (based on my experience with 5.7 model).

These guys are near Milton Keynes and do super chargers on other V8's might be worth a try?

Can't help with the performance upgrade but how about a Bentley "B" badge on the front?

Yes the 6.1 is a fantastic car but actually totally different to the 5.7. It handles far better and the 5.7 is positively lethargic in comparison.

That's a pretty widely used family of engines in the states, no?

There should be a whole ruck of tuning parts available for it.

Just having a quick google I'm seeing intakes, exhaust systems (cat-back and headers), cams, superchargers etc. etc. Also seeing some chiptuning stuff although not from makes I recognise. Claimed 8% gains on one chip I found. Dunno if dubious or not.

Why don't you try some UK tuning places and see what they can source?

Alternatively, you could try US places and see what shipping they want?

Check a US owners forum and see what upgrades they recommend?

Agreed with looking into US options. Might be worth finding a US based Chrysler forum for advice on how best to tune the 6.1 Hemi - one thing Americans are never short of are tuning options for their V8 engines smile

They look after most of the HSV/Monaros and VXR8s in the country (mine included) so whilst they do mostly GM stuff, Mopar shouldn't present any problems. Ask for Roger.
