After a few weeks of research and deliberation I put a deposit down on my first Caterham today. A 2004 Tracksport 30th Anniversary special. One of only 2 I understand?

Callum at Sevens and Classics sent me over some pictures before it was advertised and just had to go and see it. I was pretty much sold when I saw it in the flesh and it drove beautifully.

Great buying experience from these guys and Callum showed a lot more enthusiasm and interest in me than Caterham dare I say it!

Very much looking forward to picking it up in a week or so and getting to a few local meets!

Ben.

I believe it's the 'other' one Chris!

It's an '04 reg ending in HSK if that helps. Callum told me yours was sold in April.

This one's in a milder state of tune but still felt quick to me and sounded great!

I have the one bought from S&C in April smile

Is yours kawasaki green? ( I don't know if all the Tracksports are the same colour) if so, it gets a great amount of compliments smile

Yes it is - stunning colour in the flesh isn't it!

They did a bit of digging for me after I asked a few questions and Tim at S&C tells me that although they intended to make 15, they only made 2 and both will soon live in Sussex by the looks of it!

Forgive my ignorance. How are the cars specified over and above the more normal range. Uprated engine?

Tracksport was for track only, SV30 was its road going equivalent, Tracksport had a 140bhp 1.8 and SV30 a 120bhp 1.6

I had a change of heart in the end, feeling the Tracksport might be a little too extreme for my predominantly road use and went for this Roadsport instead which I picked up on Saturday.

1.8 Supersport engine
6-speed
Lotus Azure blue
12,000 miles

First impressions are it's fantastic, although a busy week at work has meant I've only really driven it the 30 miles home from Brands Hatch. Seems to have plenty of power for now, makes a great noise and the fairly small tyres allow for lots of safe fun!

Roll on Saturday morning and some sunshine!

Fantastic condition for an X reg! But seeing from the tread pattern you have ZV1's fitted which are probably very old by now, from my own experience with these tyres which were around a decade old and original to my 2002 car you may be wise to change them. In the end mine had absolutely no grip, dry or wet.
