Hi folks,

Does anyone have any recommendations in respect of replacing dampers and / or springs on their E90 335i M Sport? The car has done about 85K, and although it feels okay (insofar as the "bounce test" goes...), I can't help thinking it could do with a refresh. Turner Motorsports in the USA has these two below on offer and price-wise both seem reasonable. Are there better options out there? I'm not looking for an unbearably hard ride, especially as NZ roads are not exactly billiard smooth, and I get pothole rage at the best of times, but I do like a firm ride and flat cornering. Any opinions on the options below, and please feel free to make alternative suggestions - all welcome!

Koni FSD dampers are very highly regarded on bmw forums. I'll be buying a set next year for my 130i.
Mind you my car is very bouncy at the back So most upgraded shocks would be an improvement!
They work well with standard springs too.

Not sure how cheap/easy it is to get hold of these in NZ.

But the Birds B3 kit has totally transformed the handling of my 335i, there's loads if rave reviews about this kit, to put it simply...This is how the car should have come out of the factory.

Hi Gangzoom.. I have a 335i coupe and have had the birds/quaife diff fitted and re-map to about 360/370bhp and am running the car on not runflat Mitchelin PS3's. The car handles great but am still a little tempted but the Birds conversion although it's very expensive!
Can i ask did you get the ARB's as well as the shoxs & springs?
Does the car sit any lower than stock?
What wheel/tyre combo are you running?

In a word yes, I only fitted the Birds B3 kit after getting the LSD, antiroll bars, and engine mods done. In hindsight the Birds B3 suspension, followed by the LSD are really the only two ‘essential’ mods I would do on the car if I really had to pick/choose what mods to get. All the good stuff you read about the Birds B3 kit…they are ture ?
In regards to lowering the car, yes the kit lowered the car by maybe 1-2cm, front end more than rear, here are some comparisons.

Stock wheels and suspension (M sport).

I have done the same to my 335i, LSD, Birds B3 suspension with ARBs and replacement non RFTS Continental sport contact 5s, this has completely transformed the car from a tesco trolley into a missile. The wayward handling , tendency to understeer and floaty high speed handling has all been eradicated. Expensive but worth every penny.
