No, I do not understand that at all.

Mr Barroso is on the Andrew Marr show on Sunday morning. Should be interesting to hear his views on Dave's Euro reform ideas and what he is going to chuck Dave's way to keep the UK in. My guess is bugger all of worth.

Well Barusso just took a dump on CMD's idea of any kind of limit on EU citizens entering the UK as fundamentally against a founding principle of the EU.

So that proposal is fked.

Also the cheeky sod then had the cheek to say the UK would wield (not diminished, although arguably are influence is diminished every time the EU expands, and qualified majority voting expands, i.e no veto) ZERO influence outside the EU, and zero influence in negotiating with the US. That's our market of 60m citizens doesn't matter to a country of 250m speaking the same language, permanent member UN Security Council, often taking the same world view, and being the first in line in any coalition of the willing (although why we are always toeing the line does my head in). That's what the outgoing head of the EU thinks of us.

Well it's referendum time.

Indeed.

And let's not forget, we are currently in the EU and have zero influence if we want anything that goes against the fundamental principles of the EU

It does bother me and it does concern me that we did on two occasions sort out the st storm in Europe and yet the fkers still have little respect for this Country.
We have since 1997 lied down and played dead as far as Europe dictating Policy to us. I think Cameron should urgently call Carole Thatcher and ask her if she still has any of her Mum's handbags because Dave certainly needs one because he has no BALLS.

Quite telling that it's twice now I've heard Barroso say in answers to questions that Cameron can propose what he likes to colleagues but it's what is proposed to the EU that matters and so far they have heard nothing.

That says to me this doesn't matter verymuch tto Cameron as he's had 4 years plus so far. Not even a dicky bird apart from what he has said to Barroso is that he does want UK to be in the EU.

Not serious about a proper negotiation for reform Dave, probably because you know you are going to get very little where you can puff your chest out and say look at this result.

Dead man walking as I' ve been saying sincet before the last election.

Smell the fear. That's not just in connection with UKIP either. He's lucky that Miliband and Labour are so useless. Labour and Miliband are lucky that the Tories and Cameron are so useless. Lib Dems they're just useless.

Where to go with this because it's close to broken.

I am completely cynical about the EU and their (and our) politicians. Germany and France (with their cronies) run the EU for their benefit.

So I can see what France gets out of the EU - a huge and undeserved agricultural subsidy, and further any 'law' they don't like, they build obstacles to its implementation, so basically, they do what they like.
Germany gets a very favourable exchange rate so it can over export its cars and machinery.
Italy, Spain etc get financial support
The Eastern states get us to pay for the renovation of their fked countries, ship us their people, while having monies remitted back.
Ireland and Luxembourg are tax havens while pretending to be good citizens.
Belgium gets huge spending on the EU infrastructure itself, probably some tax avoidance also.

What exactly does the UK get out of it?

Our civil servants gold plate all EU directives to our detriment.
We pay a huge amount in.
We provide employment, benefits and healthcare for anyone who present themselves etc etc
And they generally treat us like st.

Where is the upside for us?

And don't say the immigrants, because any country can let anyone they choose in, unfortunately, with the EU, you apparently can't choose.

And still blinkered, stupid or treasonous people (some on this very Forum) just don't get it.

I really despair.

One real benefit for this nation as a whole with apparently ever rising and continuing popularity of UKIP is that it has shaken the main two establishment parties to their cores. Good! That was needed. In fact been needed for many years. It really is good to see that has got the "Your turn at No.10 Old Chap" first past the post musical chairs system being given a good shake up.

More power to Nige's elbows.. Needs to barge heftily with both of them ... thumbup

I would say every Lib Dem seat in the country is up for grabs come May. Something these predictions don't seem to take into account, they all seem far too kind given the obliteration that awaits them.

Interesting.

The 'interesting' bit on that map is one word at the foot.

Guardian
(they should have added another word after it ...'agenda')

Nobody has a clue as to how many seats UKIP will win, or come very close to winning, at the GE.
But the facts are clear. NOTHING is stopping the Kipper train at the moment.
If it keeps at its current momentum, who knows what could happen?

MGJohn's comment above, if you actually 'speak' to people in the street, is how many are indeed thinking.
There could be a massive shock in store the established parties.
Like MGJohn, I too, say 'GOOD!' About bloody time.

What is known is that CDM is absolutely scared stless of UKIP.
The 'facts' tell you this.
The economy is apparently recovering, unemployment is very low and falling etc, yet he is pushing so hard now with his own anti-immigration, right there at the top of his agenda. But the truth is he can't do a bloody thing about the EU.
