Do you have parents and grandparents that were born in this country?
Well I traced my fathers side to the 1600's in Pirbright, Surrey & my maternal side to the early 1700's & Hawkesbury, Gloucestershire.
In other words, I'm about as English as they come. Probably more so than that ghastly Farage bloke.

Oh look.
Zyg vs Farage in English heritage shocker!

I usually forget to vote, and when I do forget it doesn't really bother me because I always feel that it wouldn't have made much difference anyway.
But the pathetic insults and childish behavior of the 'anti kippers' on this thread and in the media in general has made me absolutely determined to vote for UKIP in the coming GE.
It's nice to know that my vote will effectively cancel the vote of a left wing numpty like eharding or zygalski.
Great stuff, I wish I could trace my history back more than 100 years.

To be honest I don't care about Farage, UKIP, LAB, CON or anyone else that comes along, I care about my family, country and kids. UKIP just happen to be the best of a bad bunch and appeal to my values. 75% of something is better than 50%, no one is ever perfect.

I learnt a great deal from my parents, and they from theirs. Including good manners, discipline, and useful skills to help our country and people. Is this misplaced nostalgia, I am still waiting for someone to explain exactly what it means?

Edit to add, I replied to the wrong post here smile

Absolutely, they want change, they don't want Exit. Whether that will alter if we can't get change remains to be seen but what it says is that the current government's approach is more popular than the UK EXIT under any circumstances or Labour's no change strategy.
Yep and I think that in the event of a Labour or Lib-Lab coalition taking us closer or making moves to do so will end up in them being punished in the polls as this would be the wrong thing to do and the people know that.

Well I was asked the question. Turns out I've a hell of a lot more English heritage than Farage.
That is all.

This is a political discussion thread.

Why are you so focused on telling everyone how 'English' you are?

We don't care!!!

as usual, fingers is having finger trouble.

in 15 minutes looking, I cannot find a single reference to Robert Iwaszkiewicz even mentioning the Holokaust.

what I do find is 100's of references trying to link him with such - best I can get is that the party leader of the KNP at some point made a comment (although I have not managed to find a direct link or quote of this either)

nice to see everybody g on a character assassination over something the guy appears not to have said?

unless the fingered one can come up with a solid link/quote?
I give 3 links -- click on them. Easy peasy.

This isn't character assassination -- it's how to use your mouse 101.

And I note that you still have to learn how to post links (still, if you can't even follow them, what can we expect).
so, no links then?

I know many people, most of them young (sub 40) professionals who would have normally voted Tory but would no longer touch them with a barge pole due to their threat of a referendum.

They may have persuaded a few old telegraphers to move back from ukip but they will have lost a lot of votes to labour and the Lib Dems.

In the most part the actual people in charge in government rarely make that much difference to daily lives despite what we like to think, except this time they are threatening to take away my complete freedom to live and work anywhere in the EU…to me that’s unacceptable.

from the article....

“Once something becomes a European law, it is the European Commission themselves who have the sole right to propose repeal or change of that legislation.”

“The means by which the European Commission makes law and holds law is actually the very enemy of the concept of democracy itself, because it means in any member state there is nothing the electorate can do to change a single piece of European law.”

A ridiculous waste of money and it won't work anyway. It's not too surprising though given that the EU paid activist group Fiends of the Earth the princely sum of £6.4 million so it could lobby the EU to do what the EU wants to do anyway. Spin, smoke, mirrors, trolls. Taking into account known payments to FoE, the European Environmental Bureau, the World Wide Fund for Nature and other similar activists, the total wasted in EU payouts to support lobbying and trolling by Green zealots exceeds £90 million in the past 15 years.
