Just because his brother is an MEP does not alter the point he was making - which actually had nothing to do with UKIP or any other party, it was one of "put up or shut up" to Brand.
In some ways I think you're right, yet in another it would be stretching credibility to think that Farage didn't know the guy would be there, or what he would be saying. To some extent it comes across a bit like an ambush.I imagine he applied for tickets the same as anybody else, BBC then just vet the list.
Just because his brother is an MEP does not alter the point he was making - which actually had nothing to do with UKIP or any other party, it was one of "put up or shut up" to Brand.
I'm not saying the others aren't capable of doing the same, of course. Just a shame that UKIP couldn't rise above that sort of behaviour on this occasion.

I would imagine being disabled, NF would have probably been aware of him as a fellow MEP's brother, however, you never know, they might well hate each others politics!

I thought the blow the guy landed on Brand did its job- it basically stopped him in his tracks and showed him to be the lightweight he is. In that sense it did it's job and was widely reported. For me it's a shame it was a suggestion from the brother of a UKIP politician rather than a genuine member of the public.Like I said, I thought UKIP were different in this respect, despite their rough edges.

Hopefully most readers understood that I meant audience members who are not siblings of a serving MP or MEP for one of the parties represented on the panel.My understanding of QT is that it's an opportunity for members of the public to ask questions of the panel, rather than one where the parties on the panel influence those questions. I would have thought being the brother of a serving UKIP MEP would have barred him from the audience if the BBC had known about it beforehand (I assume they didn't?). Maybe I'm wrong and have misjudged what QT is supposed to be?

The one thing that he is ignoring is that all parties contain nutters. Most of the public are aware of this. The various smear campaigns have also resulted in us becoming a little immune to these stories.
The list of criminals posted here this morning shows that the other parties have much more serious offenders than UKIP.
