Does anyone use the Xero accounting software and if so how do they find it?

Are they established with good backing and support and likely to be around long term?

Thanks.

Used it since I went contracting in 08. Brilliant and can't fault.

I've used it for a few years for my small business, and it's been great. Support are very quick to reply to any questions too.

Thank you for the replies. Does anybody use Xero alongside CIS -Construction Industry Scheme payments?

We use Xero and are a CIS contractor & subcontractor Benn. The headache of CIS aside, there's no direct sync between Xero and your HMRC portal - we just run a CIS Control Account in Xero and pay to that.

Love Xero though! Have had no issues so far.

Xero is good. Only thing that lets it down is reporting.

I'm an accountant and the firm I work for has around 120 clients using Xero now. Of all the accountancy software around at the moment we find it to be the best and have no concerns about it going anywhere any time soon.

What don't you like about the reporting, just out of interest? smile

The "dashboard" is rubbish. It would be nice when I log in to see right in front of me who is late paying, maybe a chart of income/outgoings across the year, maybe who my worst paying customers are, etc.

Then the other day I needed to find out what payments had come in and gone out for a contact (not a customer or supplier, just a contact). Couldn't do it. You can for customers and suppliers, but for some reason not contacts.

There is also very little in Xero that will give you performance over a given time - unless you're looking at a specific customer/supplier.

For collating data for the preparation of accounts there isn't much better. However it really does only give you the basics for tracking the performance of your company.

Came across http://www.kashflow.com/about/ today. A UK based company and half the price of xero including payroll.

Any experiences?
