Hello fellow PHers. I am in a bit of a bind, lovely car, no bangs. Problem dizzy amp (ignition module). Tried all the usual suspects and absolutely no joy at all.

If PH works as normal I will be fine and one of you great people will tell me that you have one in the shed for beer tokens and we will all be happier.

On the other hand, I may have an S2 with no future. Anyone fancy a non starter?

Living in hope, Dave.

Dave, if you can not see it, the word 'Ebay' on Philpott's post is a link!

Modules for about 50 quid. Not bad.

Yep, quite a few listed on ebay priced from £30 ish upwards. I am slightly puzzled though, and I have the earlier S1 so I have little direct experience, the adverts quote several different part numbers. Do the differences relate to age or engine number?

Is this any more help.. Intermotor

Intermotor are manufacturers of alternative replacement components, stocked by many major Motor Factors

Or on Ebaywink

When you do get hold of one it's worth noting that there should be a heat conductive paste between it and the dizzy body, which acts as a heat sink. After 20+ years on mine that paste was more like a powder.
Could be why they overheat and fail, or perhaps they're just getting old?

Sorry guys, I did not see that it was a link. I have followed your links and purchased one. I think it should come with the paste.... I hope.

Next problem is a servo, any ideas?

Thanks
Dave

If yours is an S2 it will have the remote fluid reservoir probably so that will be the elusive Saab unit
