Hi,

the last drive out the stack display went blank and the engine cut out while driving. I depressed the clutch immediately and rolled to a stop at the roadside. I turned the ignition key to off. After waiting a bit I restarted normally. This happened several times before I got back home.

There was plenty of petrol in the tank, and the warning lights worked (and the battery is newish, if that makes a difference).

Could it have anything to do with the stack display warning me (occasionally) that the internal battery is low?

Any ideas?

Hi that sounds like it's loosing the main feed to everything, like your turning off the master switch, the dash is usually fed from the ignition, start with main battery connections earth strap to engine then fuse box,it will be the most simplest of things!!! Finding it will not, after Che king the obvious I'd start it up and then waggle everything with a wire attached!!!

I had a problem like this & it only happened when the car got really hot - esp in slow moving traffic, obviously the most embarrassing place for a Seven to die...

Transpired it was the main battery cut-out switch expanding enough to break contact, weird... Replaced it with a new one, problem sorted wink

Check the relays are seated. Bottom one is usually the culprit.

Also check the contacts to the ecu reset switch on the bulkhead.
