None of my other cars would be able to get 5 x 2.4 metre shelves home without a roof-rack!

(It did upset the aerodynamics a bit though - the wind buffetting at anything above 55mph was severe)

EDIT: Looks like Ted changed something and the original posting is now broken. So I changed it.

I think my Chim is very practical – the boot gets all our Tescos bags in easily. Mind you, the wife's Next (when are they NOT having a sale?) bags had to stay in the car park for collection later

I bought a bathroom carpet and took it home in my S3C with the roof off - the same carpet would never have fitted in the new big Merc.

I took a Christmas tree home in my Griff a couple of years ago. Bloody freezing driving along the sea front with one of Norway's finest sat upright in the passenger seat.

Got a few chuckles from people on the street though

In the last week my Tuscan has taken;

2m roll of carpet, 3m length waste pipe, 10m 15mm copper, loads of booze from Costco, 150 tiles etc etc.

I actual find it more practical than my Chimaera as the boot is bigger and if you take the rear screen out you can fit upto 2m lenths inside then put the screen back. Large boards are the only problem but I have got about 6'x3' mdf sheets in the boot and up the rear screen.
