Apologies for KFC's attitude Margaret, he comes across as a complete c**t to most of us as well.
No need to apologise for someone else's behaviour laugh

In your case I would make an exception. Why don't you get your coat and leave. Even the most stupid of us gets your point after your first post.

I had an Aston Martin Lagonda hired for me for my wedding as a surprise by some mates, when I saw it I thought it would be a complete waste of money but as it was it took my mind off my worries for the day and kick started the very best few hours of my life.

If I had a Lambo and the time free then I'd be happy to help make someones big day special, it may be worth asking nearer the time as most people won't want to commit to something so far in advance.

Hire companies aren't too horrific, though they're mostly down south it seems

Quite. Seems a bit of a weapon.

This ^^^^

Bump the thread nearer the date.......you may catch the right person in the right mood. It's just too far off for someone to commit to a favour at this point.

A minority of seemingly small minded and self centered keyboard warriors with cynical/ bad attitudes, are the biggest reason why so many long term PHers leave the forums.

If I owned the car of someone's dreams, lived local, and could make it, then I'd spare the relatively short amount of time to take them to their wedding.

If I owned a Lambo Margaret I'd be happy to share in your sons big day but my Civic Type R doesn't quite cut it. Why would you not want to help make his day a bit more special as long as there were no insurance drawbacks? Poor Margaret is just trying to make it a special day

It's easy for all those who don't have a supercar to tell people who have them what to do with them...but the reality is when you work 100+ hours a week you want to spend time with your wife and kids...not Margret's son.

I think a hire car company is by far the best route - plus he can drive it himself with the new wife on board. He would love that more than being driven by some middle aged balding bloke wink

if anyone is in the London area in a few weekends time can you drive me to a suitable mayfair club, maybe Maddox, so I can front to the sluts outside?

in return I'll buy you drinks all night and you get second pick of the mongrels

Because the internet grants them anonymity and they are spoilt attention seekers who only post in order to admire what they have written and laugh at their own incredible wit and intelligence.

Put in an idiotic freeloading request, and you can expect stupid and/or rude replies in return.

I hope that helps smile

I realise you'll be too stupid to see the hypocrisy in telling me to drop dead after complaining about rude replies laugh

Anyway you're boring me now so I'm out of this thread. Have a nice life and try not to get shanked at work. Bye.

Well, that escalated quickly.....

I'm a bit baffled by the strength of feeling here to be honest, if you don't want to do it, fair enough, but if you don't ask, you don't get so you can't blame the lady for trying.

The only thing I can fault her on is her car choice.......

Margaret, i don't blame you for asking, but at the same time, i can see KFCs point of view. Your son is not a charity case, or a worthy cause. If he was a wounded soldier or someone who has had some bad luck in his life, then it would be different. Basically, people like KFC have worked hard to obtain your sons dream car, and they don't feel they should share it with anyone who just happens to ask and doesn't deserve it. So the moral of this story is that you should change your user name, and come back with some sob story like they do on X Factor, and i think you will have more luck. Imagine if KFC comes good for you - that would be a result!!
