Guys,

We started this event after our daughter was hit by a bus and rescued by the air ambulance a few years ago and we thought this was a good way to raise money for them and for people to come and look at cars. I'm as big a kid as anyone and love to see all the cars that come; yesterday I stood outside and watched a black series AMG , Lambo, R8, Ford pickup, three Caterhams and two Bentleys all within five minutes, some really cool cars plus some of the stuff we have in our showroom and workshop paint shop you cannot see anywhere else.

The event has grown to such a size that we have had to involve the police, traffic management company and an overflow car park. At the end of the day do you not think it's cool seeing a £250,000 Lamborghini or a equally valuable Bentley blower parked next to a £500 Corsa? All these people who come have one thing in common that we all love cars regardless of how much money you have or the car you drive. Try to enjoy the event for what it is rather than slag it off because you don't like some of the cars or people who drive them. We all have to start somewhere so if you don't like the event that’s fine, please simply stay away and leave the event to those of us who do enjoy it and make it a success.

PS we will be having a chat with the burger van for a donation

I've been to a good few of these, and will always come to them. I don't care what cars don't turn up, I'm just grateful for those who do bother to go and let us view their cars irrespective of style or make. The Meet isn't a supercar show, it isn't a "bring your car on a trailer show" it's a drive to and park up, have a butty and drink and look round show, and I love it. Thanks for putting the meet on again. smile

Its a great event I have been to almost all of them. But peoples remarks are valid. I'm all for the Bentley next to Corsa thing but its the things like the Astra making the awful din it was that frankly just lower the tone. Nobody wants to hear it and nobody turns up at this event to hear or see such things. I think a lot of owners of more target audience cars are put off coming for all the reasons people talk about.

I have mentioned in previous years a good idea would be to move the event to Pickering showground and expend it making it more public friendly (in terms of accessibility). This could provide a means of separating out the cars into "sports cars" "enthusiast cars" and "chavs with speakers" cars. If the Max power thing is peoples thing give them their own area to do it.

The guys with the "for profit" butty van should be ashamed of themselves. If anyone one has a pic of it it should be viral on social media. The cheek of it is astounding.

slight lack of supercars to usual at this one i thought. have you thought Bout making the main straight a supercar only zone to make that area abit more special. Granted get there early you get a good spot ino that my rocco was right there but i think the attraction for alot of people is the supercars and the drive there. All in all though attendance is awesome considering its just a meet and abit gets done for charity 👍👍

As on the other thread, love that there's such a mix, just the guy making the night before's chinese attempting to make an appearance with the amount of bass shaking my internals was the only downer.

Great cause and I'll still come to every one. It's the most expensive bacon buttie and coffee of the year wink

They're never going to move the event as the whole point is that it is run by Specialist Cars AT Specialist Cars. Why would they move the £1,000,000's of £ worth of motors away from the safety and warmth of their own show room to a field in Pickering which has no relevance to the event? I think people should just enjoy it for what it is, support the charity & chill out a bit.

We've all been young & daft once, I for one had a base box AND neon lights under a Saxo once upon a time & when you're that age all the noisy speakers etc are just a (very) hopeful mating call type scenario! Not that it works mind. If you don't want to be near them then either get your ass out of bed earlier or just don't come & stay in doing some decorating or something.

As I said in the other forum I like the event, I enjoy the run there & back starting at a sparrow's fart in a morning, I like the company I'm with & I like cars. I appreciate the organisation that goes into it and I thank you all for putting it on once again.

Long may it continue, just without the cheeky bacensoredds in the other burger van stealing money from a charity rage Thanks guys & gals!

Been to most if not all of them and for the most part enjoyed every one, always turned up with at least a hand full of other drivers. Not sure where else I'd get to look around half assembled Porsches up on ramps and that 356 in the showroom..... if only!

Some of the cars aren't my cup of tea and those I go with will have a bit of a laugh about them in some way but not in any malicious sense, variety is the spice etc. etc. and you just move on to the next car and so on.
There's always some that look like they've been trailered there and some that look like they're held together by hopes and dreams but that's never changed even if there has been a slight decline in exotica and it is good to see the 1L Corsa sat next to the Bentleys.

But .... when you're looking around admiring the half assembled Porsches and a rather nice Volvo 240 but can't hold a conversation with the owner/mechanic/friends or even hear yourself think because of anti-social volume levels it spoils it. In the same way that cars speeding up and down the main road spoilt it and Mustangs wrapping themselves around tree's spoils it and looks bad on everyone and the event, charitable or not.

Saw that other van too, did wonder. Very cheeky.

Hi Guys

Thank you for your kind words and support ! The bass off comments have been noted and we will sort it next year , impossible to have designated parking as its first come first served and I think having to walk round the estate and look adds to the fun , with regards moving to a field (at Pickering )this won't happen as this is our base and the over flow car park we have now will take hundreds more cars so the event can grow no problem !
