When a thread goes to volume n, why are posters who have been banned from each of threads 1, 2, 3, (n-1) still allowed back into thread n.

Tiresome that the same old twaddle and conflicts are revisited.

They have shown they aren't capable of proper conduct.

Three strikes and out as far as I'm concerned.

Thread bans are only for the life of the volume of the thread. If they don't learn and continue to be foolish/tiresome/etc, let us know via the report option and we'll see what we can do.

A new thread doesn't inherit anything from the old thread (at the moment)..

Ok fair enough but I wanted to register the point.

I'm sure you can appreciate that, having previously been contacted by a moderator using PM off forum to ask my opinions on a serial troll, that whilst I'm sure my input didn't lead to his eventual ban quite some time later, it's frustrating to see him straight back.

Clearly some people take the message on board and are 'rehabilitated' but the cyclical situation with some just doesn't give a good impression of PH.

Anyway thanks for listening.

General rule of thumb ......

Banned from thread vol 1.

If user ends up being banned from vol 2, then they get a permanent forum ban smile

If they don't learn their lesson the 1st time - then there's no hope rolleyes

So.. I got banned from This Thread after a long disagreement turned personal and I lost my temper.

I understand why I got banned (I used the c-word in frustration) but now one of the main antagonists is carrying out a quite blatant doxxing / shaming campaign that I am unable to even report, let alone defend myself against. He is attempting to get details of where I work and publish them on the thread, and using all sorts of insulting language. His first guess at my place of work may be wrong, but that doesn't mean he should keep attempting to expose my personal & professional details.

Mods:

Firstly - please can this information be deleted, as it pertains to my personal and professional life and I strongly object to its attempted use.

Secondly - If a poster is banned, they can no longer report posts on that thread. I get that this may be so that they don't throw their toys out and report everything their opponent(s) have posted, but what about when that thread turns in to an expose or character assassination? However bad it was that I used offensive language towards a poster, I don't think I deserve to be forced to watch as somebody attempts to expose my personal information and desecrate my character.

Can these posts please be removed, and the guys involved told to stop their little doxxing / shaming campaign?

I assume you're a mod?

I'm going to ask politely once again: can the information please be removed, and the poster(s) told to stop trying to find & distribute my personal & professional information.

There are very clear laws against harassment, and while I may not have been completely innocent in the argument on that thread, since I stopped posting it has turned in to just that. I don't think I should be treated as the troll, considering the escalation in to ad hominem was initiated by other posters; I had only been trying to defend myself from being flamed on all sides.

You assumed wrong. I've sent you an email.
