I have tracked on the PSS's and have been very pleased with them.

In the wet they are awesome, in the dry they scream "like a girl" --- which is quite fun.

And they last ...

I'm running max negative geo with standard components --- I think that's -1 front and back and -2.5 rear, what tyres do you use ?

Do we know when PS2s' came into production? It must be ages now, longer than I've had a driving licence anyway.

Never track a road pirelli tyre you will melt it in 1 lap and kill it.
That's utter rubbish.

In the Evo Cayman GTS v 996 GT3 track battle video that I helped with the GTS was running P Zeros. The GTS produced its fastest recorded times at the end of the day after it had done around 30 laps, by my rough estimate. A lot of those laps spent going sideways for the camera/fun. At no point, even at the end of the day, did I consider the Pirelli's on that car to be "dead". Did the pressures need dropping after a couple of laps? Yes, but that is the same for any tyre, regardless of brand or design.

And let me get this straight. After all the ranting at the Michelin guy that came in the forum the other month, you have actually had warranty work done on your car WITHOUT having N-spec tyres fitted? So when he suggested you contact him to get the name of an OPC that would be willing to work with customers with non-N-spec tyres and warranty claims had you already experienced a warranty claim without the need for N-spec tyres? Or did you have work done to your car based on his suggestions and recommendations of which OPC to approach?

Goto Porsche Silverstone and go and look at the tyres, the treads all bent back on all the cars with P rubber.
I was told to slow down on my VIP GTS day as we melted the tyres, so went to play in the water.

I did 4 laps on mine and went home when I had them, they are st, I sold them on for £300 and went PSS.

the GTS comes also with Goodyears F1 are you sure that car did not have those ?

As for warranty , no I did not talk to the M man because he was talking a lot of old rubbish towing the company line.

Of course I'm sure what tyres they had. What a strange question.

Any tyre will "go off" if you don't adjust the pressures after a couple of laps. You with all your track experience should know that. That doesn't mean they are "melted" or ruined. Any tyre will roll it's tread, including PS2's, PSS's, PSC's, Trofeo's and AD08R's. It's not specific to Pirelli. And like I said, not a sign that they are ruined.

So I don't get why you hounded that guy over several pages when you knew full well that not every OPC has the same outlook. That some WILL honour a warranty claim even if you have non N-spec tyres on. If you knew this, why give him so much st? I don't get it.

because he was telling pork pies and did never answer my question regarding CGT front tyres vs Cayman rears.
Also to renew your warranty you have to have N spec tyres and that is 100% on all OPC as far as I am aware.

My being allowed to have a wind delfector bracket and not having N spec tyres would never happen EVER.
I would have gone to small claims court if I was refused.

once the tread is bent over the cars have the worse steering wobble known to man. the way the PS2, PSS tread is you just scrub then, the way the P zero tread is you bend the rubber on the outer edge, you should also know all this !!!!

it's not "rolling it's tread" the outer edge is ruined.
