differences in 2000 to 2005 scenic engines

My daughter had someone run into her 2003 1.6 petrol Scenic last night, definitely a write off...

Thing is, she loves the car and in the recent months I have put 4 new tyres on it... new clutch, new water pump, Cam Belt...brakes. lots more work... its also low miles.

Looking around there are a few scenic with damaged engines due to belt failure, If I buy another car with the idea of changing the engine and box, what are my choices in terms of year of car to buy for a straight swap?
