Hi guys...what's your thoughts on this 2005 model?

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/m...

Is there anything that can go badly wrong on a car of this age? Would I be better spending more on a newer example or does the low mileage of the car above level things out in terms of risk?

I'm used to buying new so a second hand purchase - especially for a high performance car - makes me a tad nervous. Any advice appreciated.

Google Jon Kirham Specialist Cars and speak to him, never mind that he is a dealer with EVO stock, his original company was called Ralliart UK which should tell you everything about the bloke!

Evolution magazine called him Mr Evo!

Thanks Don - I called today and was offered a good trade in price against one of their Evos. The wife is proving harder to convince due to the high tax and poor economy lol

The easiest EVO to live with on a daily basis partly because it's not as hardcore.

Don't care what anyone says, this one has the right gearbox too!

And for what it's worth I was offered this car because it's in exceptional condition, I just can't really justify another car of the same type!

I prefer the silver to most of the other colours that the X was offered in.

Hi Don, recently found out it doesn't have a reach adjustable steering wheel. I'm 6 foot 4 and would need my seat quite a bit back due to my long legs so driving position could be an issue if I can't bring the wheel closer to me.

Now that is a fly in the ointment, normally I'd suggest a nice aftermarket steering wheel with a Sparco or OMP extension but I'm not sure how easy that is on a X

I know, tbh I wouldn't like to get rid of the airbag but I was pretty disappointed to find out it adjusts for rake only...back to the drawing board!

My 6 has no airbag because I changed the wheel but I totally understand, for me I'd like the wheel to adjust more steeply, it's always been a bit flatter / lower than I'd like!
