Gear change indicator on F30

[Please help]

Hello all. Although I have now been driving for long enough to know when to change gears on a car, I was just wondering why the indicator on my dash had disappeared.

Is it true that it doesn't show if you drive in 'sport' mode ?. There's nothing in the manual on this.

Perhaps it's only configured to show in Eco and Comforts mode ?.

On the older cars if you held down the BC button for about 5 seconds on the indicator stalk if would switch the shift indicator on and off.

Just tried that now driving back from work, and it seemed to send the mpg figures that are shown doolalley !!!. It shot up to 99mpg and then started some sort of countdown !!!. No idea what's happened there. Will have another look tomorrow.

Hi all just tried resetting the trip computer value via the idrive along with all of the other settings but that doesn't seem to have done the trick. So I pressed and held the BC button in again for 5 secs whilst the mpg figures were showing. This time it went straight to 37.9mpg and then just kept changing every few seconds!!!. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
