Say to who?
99.999% of the population are about as interested in the make of your watch as they are in the make of your broadband router. And about as likely to know what it is.
Your watch doesn't 'say' anything to anyone, people don't go around looking at other people's watches.

OK, who has a watch that says "prat"?
Anyone?
i won a £200 amazon voucher once and decided to turn it into cash, so i bought one of these with the sole idea of selling it on eBay. Anyone?
Not really sure who it's for, but i knew it would sell. I often see towny blokes on nights out in groups wearing large idiot watches. it's rose gold, 57mm (yep) and weighs... well guess how much
Anything you wear (including watches) says something about you. Can you judge people on that? Absolutely but you are probably wrong.
Whether anyone notices what kind of watch you wear is a different matter entirely - as has been mentioned most people don't know or care what brand you might wear but I would also say that most people do know quality and taste when they see it.

actually people are inaccurately judged the minority of the time, otherwise it wouldn't be reinforced as a rule in the judger's mental model. The judger's mental model is usually based on seeing what they want/expect to see rather than what is there = confirmation bias. RobCh said:

The judger's mental model is usually based on seeing what they want/expect to see rather than what is there = confirmation bias. Fake, posing tt! Not that anyone ever notices of course and I quite like it for that. I notice other peoples watches all the time and sometimes comment, they are always surprised.
I've got about 40 watches (down from 50+ ) and now wear just this one. Bought it on the 26th of October 2012 (so nearly out of warranty) and I've worn it everyday since. I did try to wear other ones, but the longest I've lasted was about 4 hours before this was back on my wrist.
I know it's a cliche but it's a Rolex (114060) and I've wanted one since I was a little lad, the minute I could afford one, I bought it new from Goldsmiths. To be honest, it looks 'nothing'. I've had loads of watches that 'look' better/flashier and that got noticed (Brietlings usually) but nothing feels as good on my wrist.
As an aside, worn constantly, in the shower, asleep, doing whatever and it still looks like new! The ceramic bezel hasn't got a mark and the bracelet seems to shrug off scratches that 'lesser' watches attract - my Speedy gets scratched if I look at it wrongly!
If anyone does notice, theyassume it's a fake - all 'Rolex' are fake, right?
