Recently, there was a thread that 'suggested' a possible BIG meet at Pendine next May - and then it all went quiet.

For those who have organised these things before (and have possibly struggled) is this likely to be a 'goer' do you think?

It's just that, with a baby who will be just under 2 years old by then, I'd really need to start building the brownie points now with the missus if I stand any chance of being 'allowed' to participate.

I have a Silver '04 VXR so would love the possibility of a Top Gear style pic!

Think this might be easier to get for me than a trip to Ibiza...

We can all make this happen smile

Need to pick a date and stick too it.
And fined some good (cheap)ish hotels to chose from ( with good size car parks).
then start a list biggrin
The pick a driving root and pit stops ...

We've got to make this happen! yes

Wondering if we could get Dougie and VX involved somehow too? Let's be honest it, that TopGear episode was some iconic television and was certainly responsible for my Monaro purchase.

Once we have a decent amount of confirmed Monaro owners due to attend, it might be worth dropping the researchers of Topgear magazine a line with what we're planning?

Can any one join in on this? I remember the top gear and for sure never thought I'd get one, now have a Monaro vxr 5.7 and keep smiling every time I flick the key. Be good event I think, one not to miss!

I'll try to find some time over the weekend to list (Google) some hotels - anyone in the business. To start the ball rolling re dates, would we be better off avoiding Bank Holidays and school holidays? I am assuming accommodation is more scarce & more pricier then. Someone suggested May I think. That sounds to be a fairly good month to go as the weather will be perking up! I'll also try to find out if there are any restrictions on the beach that we need to be aware of - or have lifted!

Would also suggest a mobile jet wash with a ramp or something for afterwards, and a good 4x4 for the obvious!
If one of us gets stuck then there will be a long line of holden's left on the beach where we have tried to help lol!

this might put a dent in any idea of getting the cars on the sand, I went down to pendine a few years ago with the monaro. south wales has some great roads and lovely grub. love the run up over the black mountain too. Llanelli is a good base for that area to head out from.

Needs to be a long weekend (2nights) to make it worth others driving along way to come.
